Japan x Reader: Always the Best Friend

Puffy red eyes, silent crying, a shoulder placed on the back rubbing in circles, hiccups and sniffles escaping one's mouth every minute.

"Kiku, come on. That's enough." A sigh escaped one's lips. "She's not worth your tears, okay? There are other girls out there for you." But to no avail, the Japanese teen kept on crying. "Come on, Kiku. She's shit, okay?" Another attempt is made, but heck, it failed. "Kiku, stop. Crying doesn't suit you. Also, everything comes into an end, nothing lasts forever."

But the response you were expecting didn't came out as expected. A punch was brought to the wall, as fists were crumpled restraining to strike again. "Stupid..." A frustrated sigh came out. "I'm so stupid to fall for a girl like her." Black eyelids tried to forbid the incoming tears that were threatening to fall out.

[e/c] eyes looked at the Japanese teen in pity. Really? Can't someone stick to one?! Unknown to Kiku, another pair of fists were crumpled. You were pissed. How can this girl manage to cheat on Kiku!? She's damn lucky. She's lucky that Kiku loves her so much, she's lucky that the man that fell for her was Kiku. Kiku, Kiku, Kiku! Damn it! She should be thankful. Tears were now threatening to escape those [e/c] eyes as well. You loved Kiku but he never loved you back. You bottled up all these feelings because you never wanted to ruin the relationship both of you have. And that is being the best of friends. You supported Kiku through a year helping him come up with the perfect presents for his ex girlfriend, perfect surprises. And when they had broken up in those past few days, you thought you had a chance but you don't. He still loves her.

Holding it up until your hearts desire, a tear finally rolled down on your rosy cheeks. 'What am I? An idiot? There's no way he'll reciprocate my feelings. After all, in his life, I have my place. I'm always the best friend, and never the girlfriend.'
